Consumption tax
A consumption tax of 10% is levied on most goods and services in Japan. Food, excluding alcohol and food eaten at restaurants, is taxed at 8%. The indicated prices of goods and services usually include the consumption tax. 税込 means tax included. 税別 and 税抜き mean tax not included.
Automobile tax and ‘kei car’ tax
